Life has sped

Speed

Offers exhilaration as well as stress

Rejuvenates as well as kills

Liberates as well as enslaves

Brings closure as well as creates deep fissures

Brings shock at the cost of subtlety

Brings ‘impractical luxury’ at the cost of ‘slow dissolve’

In nanoseconds we want to know whatever there is to know

Aren’t we ‘barely registering’ at the cost of ‘actually seeing’

We know more; reflect less, always in a hurry to capture

And forgetting the art of living

In order to record we miss the performance

Capturing the photograph we miss the moment

In the faster version of life

Life has sped, have we?
